Here you will find details of all the parish council’s finances in the form of the estimated Budget Proposals for the current or next year and the Annual Accounts for the last or previous years.
The financial year for the parish council runs from 1st April to 31st March.
Budget
The income of the parish council is derived from the parish precept, a tax paid by the householders of the parish and collected on its behalf by Taunton Deane Borough Council, and any grants received.
The parish council decides annually what the precept should be. It does this by setting a budget that forecasts the expected expenditure, income and the reserves.
Accounts
The annual Accounts are formally published here once approved by the parish council.
The spending by the parish council is audited, both by an Internal Auditor (who is independent of the parish council) and by an External Auditor who is appointed by the Government.
